80 percent of the time, I'm always wearing boots.  They may not be the kind with ankle support but they're boots nonetheless.  I have fingerless gloves for grip (except for in the winter), my leather vest, goggles, and two different helmets (convertible & chrome half top).  I'm thankful to say that within the one year (to the day) that I have been riding, I have not had any accidents.

I wear full gear in the winter months & mesh jacket with padding in the spring \ summer.
I used to ride without a helmet ,but thatwas back in the day, not no more.

I wear everything except knee pads and a vest. My gear saved my butt back in August. Got some road rash on my right knee and it was seriously swollen but after walking away from the accident I was more than happy to deal with that. The kid on the other bike that hit my friend's bike wasn't wearing a thing except a helmet. Well needless to say, he ended up breaking some vertebrae and got serious road rash while my friend and I walked away with "minor" injuries. So people, gear saves lives! Like Leanangle said, "DRESS FOR THE CRASH PEOPLE NOT THE PROM!"
